Hayrake at the Wildflower Meadow.
Background.
========
F.R.E.G support Farndon Parish Council in the management of the Village's Wildflower Meadow. This is located at the back of the Meadows, before the Marina Ponds, between St Peter's School & the Garages on North End.
When the meadow needs to be cut and the resulting hay raked off and removed we help with this task. This traditional way of managing hay meadows helps to reduce the soil fertility and increases the variety of wild flowers and grasses found. These in turn will then attract a whole range of butterflies and insects.
Everyone in the village is invited to this event and support is always fully appreciated. We are supported by an average of 15 Villagers per event (in addition to F.R.E.G members). On the last outing over 20 children joined in the fun!
Thanks to so many!
=============
We are so pleased to be able to thank all those who come and lend a hand.
The hard work is forgotten as the warm summer's evening becomes an excuse for a huge social event for adults & children alike.
As always we are happy to thank a very enlightened Parish Council for their continued support & protection of this so very special area.
