Welcome to the F.R.E.G website.

We are a local volunteer environment group.

We live in a beautiful Nottinghamshire Village called Farndon.

It is just outside Newark-On-Trent on the A46 and sits alongside a curve of the fabulous River Trent.

We are blessed with 3 local nature reserves, the Farndon Ponds, Cottage Lane Nature Reserve  & Farndon Park woodland, as well as a Site of national importance, The Farndon Willow Holt.

Our project summaries will explain the groups work supporting the Village in managing our local treasures.

This Sunday, Sep 8th 2019, was a glorious sunny day.

We were very happy to spend this helping our friends at St Peters Church. Our annual event to help them manage the Ivy around the walls of the church and the gravestones. We also cut back many of the recently sprouting offshoots from the many mature trees on the site.

If you would like to know more about the group, our ethos and activities then please explore and enjoy our site.

We just enjoyed a spectacular day on Saturday when we held our summer picnic. Villagers, visitors and many friends from other local groups came to enjoy the day with us. Nice to actually enjoy one of the lovely areas in the Village that we help to maintain. We took the chance to interest many who called in to enjoy cakes & games in all that we do.
