Welcome to the F.R.E.G website.

We are a local volunteer environment group.

We live in a beautiful Nottinghamshire Village called Farndon.

It is just outside Newark-On-Trent on the A46 and sits alongside a curve of the fabulous River Trent. We are blessed with 4 local nature reserves, the Farndon Ponds, Cottage Lane Nature Reserve  & Farndon Park woodland, as well as a Site of national importance, The Farndon Willow Holt.

Our project summaries will explain the groups work supporting the Village in managing our local treasures.

This year we enjoyed a milestone - 25 years of volunteer work around the Village.

We were hosted at the Knotts Restaurant in the marina and members old & new enjoyed a night celebrating many years of hard work and many more plans to come.

Our main focus is working parties to help manage the 4 Nature reserves in Farndon we have helped to create.

Today was an example with unexpected warm sunshine supporting our activity to plant 1000 wood anemones and 250 wild garlic bulbs in the Farndon Park Woodland.
