Welcome to the F.R.E.G website.

We are a local volunteer environment group.

We live in a beautiful Nottinghamshire Village called Farndon.

It is just outside Newark-On-Trent on the A46 and sits alongside a curve of the fabulous River Trent.

We are blessed with 3 local nature reserves, the Farndon Ponds, Cottage Lane Nature Reserve  & Farndon Park woodland, as well as a Site of national importance, The Farndon Willow Holt.

Our project summaries will explain the groups work supporting the Village in managing our local treasures.

This Sunday, Mar 19th 2019, was a glorious sunny day.

Sadly we had to spend it dealing with the scourge of our times - Litter picking.

This is one of our bigger ones. An annual event to pick along the Trent Riverside near our Village. Many ramblers, runners and fisherman spend a lot if time along these banks. It is a beautiful curve of riverside.

Sadly not everyone appreciates it.

We had a good turn out of members today, new & originals, young & old. All making a difference locally and helping manage clearance of the dumped rubbish. We want all to enjoy this asset and just wish folks would pick up and take home.

We would also like to see prosecutions of fly tippers. We will try and help identify them from the rubbish and we will support and evidence prosecutions.

The amount we have to pick up each year can be alarming.

Our thanks to Farndon Parish Council and the N&S District Council who help remove what we gather. They too will pursue prosecutions.
